The innovative polymer safety barrier specialists A-Safe, based in Halifax, have appointed Han de Loos to head up its latest company in servicing the Benelux countries. The new company is A-Safe BV and Han will be the Managing Director, tasked to develop A-Safe’s ever growing presence on the Continent, fitting in with A-Safe UK’s directors, Luke and James Smith’s strategy of expansion for 2011.
Han was previously CEO for NewBud a New Business and Development company and he is also in possession of a wealth of experience regarding spearheading new business projects and negotiating contracts with international clients, mainly from the USA, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, China and Japan.
Han explained his connection to A-Safe: “I learned about the A-safe barriers via the head hunter who was involved in getting me on board with the company and I studied the market on the internet. A-Safe products inspired me because it is a genius simple idea that everyone needs and it has been implemented to the highest standard. Everyone needs to be able to work in a safe environment. In my home town there has been a fatal accident involving a heftruck. If the company would have A-safe barrier this would not have happened! There is reason and need for this type of solution.”
Part of the attraction for Han de Loos initially was appreciating the secret of A-Safe's evolving and growing global success; lying within the polymer-based material that all the products in the range are made from. Unlike steel, which simply dents or crumples when a vehicle hits it, an A-Safe barrier has inherent strength and structural memory allowing them to buckle on collision, dissipating impact forces and then springing back to the original state. There is the added bonus of little floor damage when impacted. Naturally, this greatly reduces the need for damage repairs, both to the barrier and to the vehicle itself.
Luke Smith was very pleased to confirm his feeling in saying: “Han has just the sort of background needed in developing A-Safe products within Europe and he is well capable of attracting the kind of valued international Blue Chip clients for our continued success.”
Han has the last words on his appointment: “NewBud has been involved in helping companies with their sales strategies and general business development topics. As such I have seen many products, companies & services but never I have seen such a simple solution that everyone needs. It is an honour to work for and with A-Safe products”
