Seabrook Crisps crunches numbers to come up with the A-Safe flavour

Seabrook Crisps, based in Bradford, are very popular, particularly in the North of England over the last 50 years.  25 years ago Seabrook pioneered the use of sunflower oil in which to cook crisps cleanly and healthily as well as using sustainable sea salt to season the products.  They are a very 'Yorkshire' family owned business and share many traits with A-Safe, the pioneering safety barrier company from over the hills in Halifax.

Tommy Brown, Site Manager at Seabrook is responsible for site safety, among other things, and very keen to protect the staff on site, as well as protecting machinery and vehicles. Tommy extensively researched the internet to find the right safety barrier to reflect the importance of Seabrook’s concern for its valued people.  After 'crunching' many sites he came across A-safe barriers.

Tommy summed up his search by reporting:  "After an intensive search on the web trawling through countless steel barrier sites, I came across the polymer-based A-Safe barriers and knew this was for me.  It’s pre-coloured, doesn’t rust, is fork-lift-truck-proof, never needs painting and is highly visible”.

Indeed, unlike steel, which simply dents or crumples when a vehicle hits it, an A-Safe barrier has inherent strength and structural memory allowing them to buckle on collision, dissipating impact forces and then springing back to the original state.  There is the added bonus of little floor damage when impacted. Naturally, this greatly reduces the need for damage repairs, both to the barrier and to the vehicle itself.

The point is not lost on Tommy who realised the sustainability of A-Safe barriers and explained the long term need to keep in check the pedestrian flow in preventing, protecting and guiding staff away from FLT areas of activity, especially in the despatch area, where a run of over 60 metres of pedestrian safety barrier is punctuated at intervals with the bright green specially developed A-Safe safety gates for safe access.

Tommy enthusiastically summed up his A-Safe experience in a typical forthright Yorkshire manner by saying:  "It’s good gear; more cost effective than steel, easily cleaned with normal cleaning fluids, easily and cheaply installed with little maintenance costs; brilliant"

So convinced is Tommy about A-Safe, that they are now the barrier of choice for the Bradford site with further orders in the pipeline.
